18 questions that will stop debt collectors abusive phone calls

Are you being hounded on the phone by debt collectors? If so then the following 18 questions are for you.

They will put an end to their abuse very quickly. When you use them you should always be certain that you demand that they validate the debt and inform them that you dispute the debt and each and every part of it. You should print them out and put them in a plastic sheet protector and keep them near your phone so you can get to them quickly.
You should also tape all of your phone calls with debt collectors and I will also show you how to do that here.

1. What is the name of the company you are calling for?
2. What is their address.
3. What state are they in?
4. What is the zip code?
5. What is the phone number?
6. What is the name of the creditor?
7. What is their address?
8. What state are they in?
9. What is the zip code?
10. What is their phone number?
11. What is the Account number?
12. What is the amount you claim I owe?
13. What is your name? What is your last name?
14. What is your address?
15. What state are you in?
16. What is your zip code?
17. What is your telephone number?
18. What is your Social Security number?

Naturally when you get down to the personal information they are going to want to refuse to give you that information and will claim that they don't have to give you that information. That is when you tell them that they must give it by law because the law says that they have to give full and complete information about the call they are making and since they have already broken the law by calling you in the first place and you want to know where to send their summons to court and you want to be sure that you have the right person on the summons. That will normally get rid of them real quick. If it doesn't then you simply tell them that if they have anything to say to you they need to put it in a letter and send it to you by mail and then hang up on them. If they start screaming at you then you simply scream back at them and don't shut up until they do. Naturally you will not want to take the time to go through all of that at your workplace but if they do get stupid and call you at work and on your cell phone then you simply get their name and the company name and tell them that you are at work and they need to put it in writing and send it to them. But you want to put your home and cell phone numbers on your letters and make it easy for them to break the law. You have to have several violations of the law in order to win the case and you have to build a paper trail of the violations so we want to tempt them to break the law as many times as possible.

Here is another great way to get rid of Debt collectors. Phonetray is a program that monitors your phone line and not only lets you answer calls while online if you are using a dialup connection to the internet but also lets you enter the phone number of the debt collector who is hounding you and zap him every time he calls or play him a short recorded message every time he calls. The message can be music or you can record your own message using a free program called WAVEPAD.

You must have a full featured voice modem with caller I.D. in order for it to work but modems are very cheap these days. If you have problems they offer technical support by email and do a pretty good job of getting any problems resolved. The program costs $15.95 but it is worth way more than that. If a new number comes in that you don't recognize it can help you look the number up and pin point exactly who the caller is.

Allow me to preface this post with a statement. I give credit where credit is due. Period.

I don't want to seem like I am preaching against using credit to help
you when it comes to things like purchasing a house, or an automobile.
But allow me to explain where I am coming from. I have a 15 year fixed
rate mortgage, one paid for car, one not paid for. Everything else that
is under my roof is paid for. The majority of my debt is for medical
bills, student loans, and "stupid tax" as I call my credit card
balances.

Allow me to explain how I got to this point. I was reading a previous
post on Creditwrench's board, and agreed with the poster that the
recidivism rate for bankruptcy filers is really high. The only way that
you will be able to fix your broken financial life is to realize that
there is nobody else responsible for your financial position and the
mistakes that you make except for the PERSON IN THE MIRROR! You have to
take responsibility for the actions that you took, or lack thereof.

If I may get on my soap box, and share a little of my life.

Here's our situation. I am the only income for our family, since we
both decided that our children have benefited from having one parent
stay at home with them. It is showing because our son, who just
graduated the 1st grade is reading on a 4th grade level. He's
academically gifted, and our 1 year-old has a vocabulary of about 12
words. These are the benefits of a hard working mother, who has the
lowest paying job there is, but reaps the most rewards.

As a professional automotive technician, my salary has been in the
$30-35K range for the past year. I took a higher paying job last
October, and realized that we were given the opportunity to get out of
our mess that took us 8 years to accumulate. We were both sick and
tired of being sick and tired, and literally living paycheck to
paycheck.

I had heard of Bill's Creditwrench
program before, but hadn't signed up for it, because most of the debt
we had was really old, or was being paid on monthly. I was considering
BK, but didn't follow through with it. I felt a moral objection that BK
is trying to weasel out of legitimate debt that one has incurred.
CONTROL YOUR SPENDING, AND YOU CONTROL YOUR DEBT! It can't get any
easier... don't buy if you can't pay for it outright.

In March 2004, I got a nasty call from a bill collector, and my blood
pressure was through the roof. I normally don't let BC's faze me, but
this guy took the cake. He had the audacity to physically threaten me!
That's when I had an epiphany. I equated my dealing with this jerk to
being in the Old West. I was headed for a gunfight, and needed shotgun
shells for my shotgun. Bill has provided me with the shells, and I'm
firing away at these old debts.

At the beginning of this year, my wife and I sat down, and found that
we had $35,360.89 worth of debt, not including our mortgage.

As of the first of May, our total debt(not including the mortgage) has
been whittled down to $30,393.98. We wouldn't have been able to do it
without help from Creditwrench and a written plan. Creditwrench enables
you to clean up the mess, and feel good about taking the dirtbag CA's
to the cleaners! I've got several in the process, and am chomping at
the bit.

I realize that the only benefit of having a pristine beacon score is to
allow one to go DEEPLY into debt in a hurry. Not any more... I've had it!
I'm pumped up, and ready to get our lives back on track, and I owe it
to Bill Bauer.

I had my first victory three weeks ago with a 2-year old collection
account, that I was able to pay off, and get removed from my bureaus!
Man that felt great!

From what I have seen and heard lately, I'm afraid that common sense is indeed, not common.

Please don't delete! I started my "credit tweaking" about 4 months ago. I read and read, and couldn't decide if I should do it by myself or not. Many people were against Bill, and some were for him. For people who are looking for a "personal guide" my results I think speak for themselves. EQ and EX are up over 100 points, and TU about 50 in 4 months.

Bill's service is very much like a fishing guides. He has fished in all the lakes and can offer personal advice as to what lure works the best (I'm tickled pink whenever I think of a CA hitting on a lure and me reeling em in).

It is in your interest to read everything you can, which includes this board, as well as creditbords.com. You can learn something from each of them, and that is what it is all about it, isn't it? For the 400 bucks, why not get a third site and some very knowledgable advise as to what letters to send, the letters themselves, and what to do next?

I'm doing the CreditWrench program right now and it's been working good so far. Bill is a very knowledgable guy and his profitable approach is very great for people who have time for it. I am happy and I feel that I might stay with the CW program for another couple of months after which I'll know enough to deal with it on my own.

His website offers a lot of info and I learned a ton when I first came on to it. It's from there that I found this site, where I learned a great deal as well

Lynn Duncan wins in court against Bank of America

Well one down and one to go.
Just thought you would like to know how my Mother's case with BOA/Mann Bracken
turned out.
I went to court in her behalf yesterday, and when the judge called her case
I went up along with the attorney for Mann, and after we stated our names and
I told the judge why my Mother could not be there, the next thing I knew the
attorney for Mann said "your honor we would like to dismiss this case without prejudice"
Done deal.
Now I have to see what will happen when my case comes up with BOA/Mann next month.
Thanks again for your assistance with these scumbags.
Peggy
